Ok, yeah I know I just said in the journal yesterday that I can't talk for the sake of talking but this is actually something I found out this morning and it hits very close to home. My mother is a first grade teacher and this year has been awful so far for her and everyone else who works for the school district. They've cut funding for almost everything, uped class sized from 20 to 26 and a half, their collapsing and reforming classes which derails the 'getting comfortable in a classroom and actually starting to learn' thing that most kids have to deal with in kindergarten and first grade and just to top it off the guy in charge of which classes get collapsed when actually threatened my mothers principal that if she didn't back off he would take even longer to decide which classes stay and which go which would do even more harm to the children. Yesterday it looked like there might be some relief for the teachers at my mom's school site when they found out they were getting two new teachers to form a new kinder/1st grade split, which would ordinarily be fine with me since it would get the class sizes smaller. But then she told me how two of her coworkers wanted to give all their low kids to that class since "they'll always be low so they're better off being taught the kinder stuff." I'm so pissed I could scream, I was one of those low kids who couldn't get math the first time and who was socially inept. They ignored and passed over me so many times I lost count, I became depressed and suicidal because I was being beat down by not just the other students, but the BLOODY TEACHERS AS WELL!!!!! And now they're doing it to another set of children and there's not a damn thing I can do to stop it. It makes me want to scream and cry at the same time, they're ruining futures and they could care less. they don't even see the children, they're just a paycheck to these women. I'm disgusted to say I used to think well of them, they are nothing but leaches draining the life out of these children whom they are supposed to be preparing for life after school. But no, that would be actual work, no they'd rather just leave them to rot because after all there have to be janitors and farm workers. We can't all be educated, right? If there was an enraged howling emoticon I'd use it right now, this just makes me so pissed off. I can't even type anymore, my hands are shaking so badly.
